Hi Folks. I'm sure most of you are aware that certain Hemi cuda's are going for Ferrari type prices, but you don't hear about flatheads getting the big bucks (except for 1930's Imperials)... well check this out!

This dealer is surely well-named, but the car is a right lovely piece.

There's some dispute about its authenticity...

But who would complain about owning such a jewel?

One reason why the price is high is that this car has run Monterey for a bunch of years, and it's THE vintage event in the US. They are very picky about who can enter but I think it's a little less so for pre-war cars and also this car is owned by Martin Swig who organizes the California Mille and has a lot of (well deserved) "pull.

You have to admire guys that spend the big bucks for a racer then risk it all somewhat by racing them.I guess I'm jealous. Many of the names listed I saw race at the Glen or the old Bridgehampton track as a teenager. It's nice to see them still active.

Leif, too bad you didn't call that guy I put in contact with about the 323. It was rebuilt and just left sitting, ready to run, sold for $200.

I hate to hear that. Even with freight to the left coast it would be cheap, but my house is being remodeled (they are lifting it to fix the foundadtion) and I just can't do anything at the moment. Hopefully it won't be the last one ever.

Walter P and his successors installed that big inline eight in "big Chryslers" and Imperials through 1950, as i recall, so there should be at least one left for you . . . and two or three or nine for "parts."
