Hi
Well i sold both my Novas and now i have a 66 Mustang coupe with a L6 which im fixing up.The thought crossed my mind that i would check into turboing this motor instead of replacing it with a v8.
I like the wow factor of having a completely moded Mustang with air ride susp ,17" wheels, custom interior and then you pop the hood and theres a fully chromed out L6 that has a turbo on it.Im not looking for outlandish numbers somewhere around 225hp at the wheels would be fine.I just want somthing that will get me out of traffic if i need to and turn a tire over pretty good on a Fri. night cruise.
So has anyone put a turbo on a L6 200 mustang on here?I did search this and found nothing.
Later Matt

NOGO,

I used an article published in Hot Rod, several years ago, to build a 200 six.

You may know that Offenhauser builds an adapter to bolt 3 Holley single barrel carbs on your engine, after a little cutting. I bought one and used progressive linkage...worked like a charm.

With dual headers/with a center exhaust divider, a mild cam and valve spring upgrade, with some ignition improvements, that sucker was a screamer! It had a sweet sound, too.

Now, I'm not talking huge torque and pavement tearing acceleration, but the little six will really come alive. And.......you're right it'll really turn some heads!

A buddy with a nice, early 260 Mustang, couldn't catch me from 0 to about 80 mph and I'd beat him in the quarter almost every time. Wish i still had it.

Those are great little engines and a lot of bang for the buck. Build one, I'm sure you'll love it!

Lord, let me live long enough to do all the projects I have planned!
