Finally getting started. Parts are at the machine shop. 1955, 261, being bored 40 over, crank going 10 under, rods being resized, 848 head's already done. It's been 35 years since my hands were inside a chevy 6, and it feels great.

Does anyone know a source for new rod bolts? There's no telling how many times these have been tightened, or how, and I'd like to replace them but haven't found any easily. Info will be appreciated. Thanks. joe

Based on Tony P's post on 261 rod bolts I bought these ARP bolts for my 261. The caps had to be machined to fit the rod and clear the cam. I recently fired up the engine, but have not yet stressed it. I would prefer getting some NOS bolts, though.
