On Mike Murillo’s dyno M6 thunders to 650 rwhp @ 6300 rpm and 547rwft @ 5700 rpm with a conservative 325 hp shot of nitrous. The cam shaft swap proved to be the main ingredient for the EFI and nitrous to show its full potential. We found a extra 110 rwhp and 70 rwft in the setup. The new setup makes so much torque it was blowing right though our 8" torque converter. We have bought a new Coan 9" convertor for a nitrous application but have not installed it yet.

The motor tune was almost perfect with great idle qualities and part throttle performance for race car. We did some staggered jetting on the nitrous and all the plugs look great. We also played with the timing curve and found 25 hp.

So far there are no head gasket leaks with the new seven head stud setup.

That's great!
What type of rocker arms did you switch to?
Jessel said they would make some for my Sissel/Kirby head but it was a bit pricey.
But they said they would like to look at the cylinder head & produce some shaft mounted rocker arms.

Hank- We went back to Harland Sharp and recieved some rocker arms that were 75% finished. We changed the pushrod geoerty useing some Jesel componets. We did look hard at a Jesel setup but the larger valve cover would not fit in our fire wall area. Then the head would have needed to be machined and so on........
The biggest problem is cam shaft deflection. It doesnt matter how bad a-s your valve train compents are the cam is going to deflect with big lifts and gonzo springs. Any body that is going to try a big cam stay under .750 lift.

Steven ,
do you have any pics of your valve train setup?
How bad were you blowing out the head gaskets?
You had the head o-ringed,block?
What head gaskets were you using? What are you using now?

Just asking a few questions ,so hopefully I learn more of what works w/our Sissell/Kirby head.
Thanks

Hank- Yes I have some valve train pictures. I can email them to you.
It did not blow the head gasket bad at all. The block was oringed w/a reciver groove in the head. We have been running a copper head gasket for some time. For your turbo setup the head gasket deal might be allright. How much boost?

Mike K. has the measurements to the new head bolt loctaions from our head if you need them someday.

Steven,
I think I will be running 25-30 psi of boost pressure.
Did Mike K,do the machineing on your cylinder head? Looks like it was a lot of work,& I see how thick the deck is from your website.

Thanks for emailing the pics when you get a chance.

Hank, No my brother Craig did all the machine work. He sent Mike the update to our head to use on a injected alky/nitro motor he was building. I will send you some pictures.
