Im looking for ideas for mounting a newer GM power steering pump on my 1955 235. I made the conversion to 12V Alt and have not figured out a way to mount the pump. Are there ready made brackets or will newer 250 brackets fit?

I'm also interested. I've not seen any ready made ones. Most of the installs I've seen use a modified A/C bracket to mount the P/S pump low on the driver side. I want it all, A/C, P/S & alternator. So I haven't figured out an approach yet. One that looks promising is to mount a spacer under the thermostat housing on the front of the block and use that as an anchor point for a passenger side A/C mount. There's a boss on the head that could be drilled and tapped to supply a back attachment point, or the side motor mount boss might work.

But all I've got to offer is some ideas, no hard parts.

regards,
Leon

If you have a 55 or later block (I don't) a setup like this one could be fabbed for a 235 using the front mount boss. Maybe A/C on the passenger side?

For a dual groove WP pulley on 55-62 engines, shorten the pump about 1/2" and use a pulley from a short pump SBC.

6inarow is reproducing the dual groove dampers, but they are expensive...

I am working on a variety of bracket setups to cover the different combos that people are looking for. However, it isn't a priority at the moment. Hopefully by next spring I'll have it all worked out and ready to sell. Otherwise, you'll need to make your own.
