hi!

since my upgrade to a 292 is still a dream.... \:\(
I need to change the oil of my 250ci. This will be my first time, so I don't have an idea about the amount I will need.
The engine is "stock".

Kind regards,

Bas

4 quarts and maybe another half when changing the filter too.Check the level after operating for awhile to see if any needs to be added.

I always get the short filter when looking it up on the books, but I want the deep one. What should I be asking for if I want the deeper one? I thought the difference would be car vs truck, but even on the truck I still get the short one. An AC delco part# would be fine too \:\) I have new oil and filter in my engine already, but I painted over the flter when I painted the engine, and since it has been sitting for three years, I want to change the oil again after a hundred miles any way. I hate to have an ugly filter on a clean engine.

Well there is realy 3 different ones Or at least there used to be. ONE was a 2qt filter mostly found on v8 trucks. But anyway most older v8s used the same filter.I think the fram filter is a PH8 is what i use.

Carquest and Napa are Wix. Same assembly line different paint. I don't use Fram! I sell 'em. Most after market remote filter adapters use the Ford application Wix# 51515, Napa Gold# 1515, Carquest# 85515, & AC Delco# PFL1A.

The most common Chevy 6 & 8 filters are SHORT Wix# 51069, Napa Gold# 1069, Carquest# 85069 & AcDelco# PF25.

Heavy Duty or Long Wix# 51061, Napa Gold# 1061, CarQuest# 85061, & Ac Delco# PF35
These are the later 6s and most small blocks there are exceptions.

Thanks for the info guys! I totally agree on the FRMA, I had no idea before, I mean you would think such a well recongnized brand would have a little quality, but my friend showed me a site that compared many of the filters and it blew my mind. Wix is said to be the best along with AC, I like AC Delco for the "authentic" look I guess lol...
