Hello all.The harmonic balancer went out on my 292 awhile back.
A new one from stealership was/is $168.I really couldnt afford that at the time.I found a parts truck,86 c20 phone company truck with a 292.Block had a big hole in the side.I bought the HB,alt, water pump, power steering brackets, etc. Now all this is on my engine except PS.I noticed the HEI dizzy is seeping a little
oil.Gotta pull dizzy to replace the gasket. Then I saw I didnt get
the timing cover from the 86,so now I dont have correct timing tabs.Do I need to find another 80s motor or what?I havent pulled the dizzy yet because of this.Any ideas? TIA,Muley

all you really need to do is find top dead center on #1 and remark the balancer. you can use a file or a hacksaw blade to remark it. it helps to wipe some white paint in the line after you recut it. tom

Extend the white line down the front face and onto the hub. When the new, used one starts to move around it will be easy to spot.
