OOPS just noticed I put this in the wrong section, if a mod could move this to say "Truck Talk" that would be great. Thanks.

Drummin52: Truck looks great. Like the disc conversion on the front.. But... It appears to be on cinder blocks in one of those pic's. Jack stands are really inexpensive. You really don't want to be taking a chance like that. Compared to the money you are spending on the truck the jack stands are chump change. My two cents Paul...aka xerxes

yeah it was on blocks on the front up until I got these wheels/tires on. I also had sturdy/safe support just behind the leaf spring shackle. While on blocks I made certain I didn't crawl underneath it.

What Paul said about the truck being on cinder blocks kind of made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Chris, it was a real good idea to stay out from underneth the truck. When I was in high school, one of the guys I was friends with had an old Chevy (late 40's or early 50's) and had it supported by orange crates while he was working on it. That was the last mistake he ever made. The orange crates collapsed and the car fell on him and killed him. I've never forgotten that, and it made a VERY firm believer in using proper jack stands and other safety equipment out of me. Unless you can bench press a Chevy pickup, don't EVER use anything other than good quality jack stands to support it.

When I was 15 I was saved when my '38 ford, with no wheels, slid off some firewood rounds and wedged against the garage wall. I was alone and was pinned under it for several minutes. Lesson learned! If it had been a two car garage you guys wouldn't have to read all my crap! A friend's son was not so lucky, My son got jack stands before he got wrenches.

When my dad sent me off to the Navy, he told me "Don't get a tattoo, don't sleep with whores, and always use jackstands when working on your car." I realized how important it was when put in that context....
