I've found a brand new WC t-5. says it fits a 94-95 s-10 &s-15. Looking on the T-5 page it doesn't show them that late. If any one can tell me if it will fit the 292 bell housing I'd be very happy.

They did use the T5 behind the 4 bangers that late.

Yes, they are world class,
They have 26 input splines,
has the longer S10 input shaft length,
They are electric speedo only,
Might have a 4.03 first gear,
They most likely have the Ford bolt pattern.

Assuming the Ford pattern, then No, It won't work with a typical Chevy bellhousing unless you modify it by re-tapping the top holes and welding on a tab accross the bottom of the bellhousing to pick up the bottom two bolts.

Other option is to find an early 1980's Jeep 2.5L bellhousing which is a Chevy bell with the Ford pattern. You will need to use the smaller 153 tooth flywheel, not the 168. The center hole is larger than 4 11/16", so either an adapter ring needs to be made, or you will need to swap out the input collar. The Ford T5 collar I have will fit the Chevy T5, but it is a little larger than the hole in this bellhousing, so getting it turned down would be an option. Not sure what the collars on the Jeep T5's are for diameter.

well, I haven't made the deal yet but they say it's a chevy bolt pattern. I was just curious if one that year still had the sbc pattern.

Technically, you can say its a Chevy pattern just because it came out of a Chevy, regardless of the actual shape of the pattern. If they will email you a picture, that would be best...

Keep in mind that "sbc pattern" would be bellhousing to block, not trans. to bellhousing.

I don't believe the 4 bangers used in S10's have the SBC pattern on the back.
If you find an NV3500 from behind a 4.3 V6 in an S10, then that would have an integral bellhousing with the SBC patern...

You could try contacting a local Chevy dealership parts counter with those numbers and see if they can tell you anything about it...

Gerahed, you're absolutely right. Ford square pattern. I'll probly have to do something different. I don't think I want all the hassles of which you speak. Thanks a lot for the info!

So are there any of the WC trannys that'll bolt to the 292 bellhousing?

'88 and up Camaro

All you need to do is find one of those lists that most T5 sites have. The list will say if it is WC or NWC and what it's application is.

I see. OK Keep my eyes open. I was hoping to put the s-10 trans in for the shifter location, but really want the WC I think for the reliability.

I've seen people talk about swaping the tail housing and top cover off the S-10 2WD box onto the Camaro box, that would give the shifter location you are looking for.

I don't remember the particulars for the swap though (I want to say Chevy -> Chevy, WC -> WC but I'm not sure).

My, what a steep learning curve. Erik II#5155

Use the later one and modify the bellhousing. Convert to an electric speedo or get a converter box for $319...

One thing I forgot, but there are a few 1993 S10 WC units out there with the regular pattern, but they are difficult to find. Again, you will have the electric sender to deal with.

If you absolutely have to have the S10 shifter location, WC, & can use the electric sender, then modifying an aluminum bellhosuing to use the Ford patterned S10 may actually be the cheapest way to go when compared to having to buy 2 transmissions to make one out of them.
Good Luck...
