Hi TerryP . . . That is a pretty major swap - mounts, tranny cross member, new drive-line. I take it you already have a 292? Yo pinebluffdude . . . A 'fleetwood' is a Cad . . . a 'fleetline' is a fastback Chevy . . . mines a forty nine . . . the fifty is pretty much the same. I saw a hot pink fastback lead sled once . . .

TerryP
If your going to that extent have you considered swapping in a trailblazer 4200? They make 275 or 290HP year dependent from the factory. It takes a lot of modifications to get a 292 to that power level and still be driveable. Low mileage 4200's can be had off ebay for under $500. It'll get much better mileage than a modified 292.
I started out with a modified 292 in my '51 GMC (header, cam, intake holley 4bbl, ported head lump ports etc) it got 14 MPG highway with an overdrive auto. Swapped in a stock 275HP 4200, lost a little bit of bottom end torque to the 292(being honest here) but pick 9 MPG on the highway (same trans) and it was so smooth a little throttle and it just went.
Take a trailblazer for a test drive and what its like. The trailblazer is about 4300# model dependent.
Then the mod's started....

My bad on confusing the Fleetline and Fleetwood. I think there are also some links on the right hand side of inliners.org main page, the button says 12 port advertisers.

I have a 292 engine that was built by Lamar Walden in Doraville Ga. I am aware of the conversion from the 235 to the 292 will be extensive, engine, trans, drive shaft and rear end. I am looking for tips, do's and don'ts and suppliers or fabricators that maybe able to help.
Please dont hesitate to e-mail or call. I need info on water pumps, fans pulleys prefer aluminum---anything will help. I will try to soon post some pictures.
If you have any 292 engine part that is for sale, please contact me,even nuts and bolts, I would like to have a oil tube and dipstick.
Thanks
