Sorry if these are vague questions.
I remember reading somewhere on the bulletin boards about:

1) Using a stud on one or all of the water pump bolt holes.
Which one?
Any other holes? ie; Thermostat/water outlet, manifold?

2) I believe torque on one of the front head bolts has been reduced to 80lb-ft.
Left or right side?

Do the above differ between 194-250 engines and 292s?
All aimed at reducing cracks, right?

If anyone can set me straight on these items I'd appreciate it.
I have the worst luck finding stuff like this in the archives!

I believe the 292s are safe because of the taller deck. The 250s on down are real thin by the upper bolt.

It's not the WP bolts.
It's the drivers side front head bolt that has the problem for cracking. 194-250 Blocks.
