Good job!

It takes alot of time to do the work, but it is worth it.

I would also suggest the 4.5 PV.

Going to do some reading on the secondary problem. Is there a check ball in the Holley secondary control can?

There was a ball check in one of the 'ports' in the secondary diaphram/can. Excuse my ignorance but it was a while ago when I changed the secondary spring, and I know that I encountered a ball and I reinstalled it where it came out of.

I'm reading also - I finally broke down and bought a book (should've bought the book sooner.)

If at first you don't succeed,
then read the directions and try again.

Ahh, it was as I suspected. My Holley book says the check ball limits how fast the secondaries can open. The spring sets the vacuum point they open at.

The book says without the ball the secondaries can open very fast.

I have never seen a Holley 4 BBL open the secondaries while revving in neutral or park. Tom
