trying to find out what size engine i have so can start looking for performance intakes and exhaust and few other things;;
casting no# above starter is 3850817
no# on pad behind dist is FO908TF

best i can find is the casting no# shows to be a 235 and 250;;i need to know if it's 235 or a 250[oil pan reason]

Casting #s chart shows 3850817 is '62-'78 230-250. Not 235. Intake,exhaust, cam would be the same. Head treatment, valves, springs, lump ports would be the same. They have the same bore 3.875. Strokes are 3.250 for the 230 and 3.530 for the 250. The 230 might be the best for a turbo set up because the shorter stroke gives the crank pins more overlap. What are you putting it in? Beater

it is in a 62 chevy truck i'm doing a full street truck build;;painted a big bad orange with a silver/blue/teal fine flakes over it..lowered 3"frt and 5" rear;;put 22" wheels;;full custom interior with 4 amps/10 speakers/8"dvd/all the bells and jingles;;want to leave the 6cyl in it and trick it out but need to know if a 230 or 250 because according to parts store they have different oil pan gaskets;;can you tell me if it's a 230 or a 250?

THR and THH are 76-77 292 codes.

I have the others somewhere, doggone it.
I think it looks like anything with first letter "T" is a truck code?
