We've had three of five races at Woodburn Dragstrip here in Oregon in the Northwest Nostalgia Series. The Inline/Flathead class has been well-represented by inliners. I thought you'd enjoy some photos from the track. Here's the link:

I didn't catch his name. The family was from South Dakota, visiting their daughter in Portland. They pulled the race car out for this event. The truck was quick. My memory is that he was running 11's, but I didn't write anything down.

Jim,

Thanks for posting the pictures. I think it's turning out to be a great race series.

Ron's truck doesn't have a roll cage, so he runs it pretty well backed down. Mid to high 11's or he gets kicked off the track.

Can't wait until next year. I should be ready to go by then. I wish we could get some of the washington tracks involved to spread it out some. We'll see.

Harry 6674,

Problem isn't with the tracks. It's with getting enough Inliners out to a drag race. We used to have an Inline class at Bremerton, but it got dropped when only 2-3 cars started showing up. They'd like to see at least a full field of 8 to run a class.

Thats what Gordon told me when I talked to him about it at a Shelton drag strip planner meeting. Maybe if it could be tied in with the Woodburn series it could draw a larger field. Just thinkin out loud. Possibly Ridge Motorsports could get involved.

Walt: Perhaps our Portland/Vancouver Club members should be encouraged to come out for a bit of racing at the September Series event. Their cars may not be set-up for serious racing, but it could be a fun event for everyone. Who knows, maybe some of them will catch the bug. Jim
