The way it would enter the carb, I would not think it would be ideal with the high swirl motion.

The one carb bonnet snowman bought would be better IMO.

This piece bolts to the intake so the throttle body or carb would havw to be placed before the turbo or blower.,

Still, I do not think it's a good design, high swirl/entry design for what?

The 4 holes, do they have a nice entry radius', or is it just four sharp cut holes?

It will work when forcing air through it,but forcing air & fuel, don't think it would be good for that.

What are you thinking to use it for?
Got a pic of it w/the bonnet removed showing both pieces?

maybe not, maybe its used as in the second picture with the four bbl bolted to the top of that flat surface (a draw thru system)rubber hosed to the compressor inlet

PGs are great for certain applications.
Not those expensive (to rebuild) cast iron glides though.

Well,it reminds me of what the British did to the Olds 215 inch V8 after they bought it from GM to put it in a bunch of their cars, They sort of remotely attached/adapted a pair of side draft SUs to the stock 2-bbl Olds intake. They should have bought some Rochesters to go with it-they would bolt right on.

It looks like a old design for a remote carb used for draw thru. Maybe a VW bug or something simular. There is one very much like it on ebay now. Not the same one though.

The base is the same as the old Rochesters and bolts right up to my Clifford intake, my plans are to place a throttle body before the turbo or paxton and then run it through an intercooler then to the intake. The hat makes it easier. This was the one off EBay for $49 including the shipping. I think 3.55 gears are a good compromise for everyday driving and occasional performance displays.

I am confused a little bit...it is clearly not a "bonnet" like the '57 factory supercharged Thunderbirds used, as it does not attach to the carburetors' air horn. It's mounting flange can be mated to either the underside of a carburetor or to the the intake manifold itself and in either case, be a component in a draw-through system. The former would have it placed between the carb and the turbo compressor inlet; the latter would have it placed between the intercooler and the intake manifold. Just so we all can be on the same page and have a meaningful discussion about the same scenario; do you intend on mounting it to the carb or to the intake? I did not receive a copy of the transcript, and therefore got a tad bit confused, if you know what I mean!

At a car show at the NASCAR track in Ft. Worth this year, I saw a late body rolls-royce for sale with its hood up. As I peered into the engine bay of one of the most expensive cars in the world, I saw a (1) A gm a/c compressor and (2) a pair of factory adapted side draft carbs similarly adapted to a maybe 400 inch Rolls V8! What a Rube Goldberg contraption.
Maybe some salesman at the SU plant has pictures of the Queen, or they really overproduced those side draughts-dunno
In England, when in doubt stick on some S.U. carbs and some Lucas (the people that bring you darkness) Electronics. That way the underhood light wont burn long enough for people to notice the S.U.s

The bottom plate of the hat is bolted to the intake, the Clifford intake is set to take injectors at the ports, an intercooler between the blower and the hat and a throttle body regulating the air into the blower. So the only blow through is just the air. ,

Looks like all that pressurized air is gonna be blown out those holes on the sides of the curved "lid" In your disassembled picture. Are they holes or just optical conclusions?

I think those are NPT holes to hook up some fittings?
