I was looking at the Offy finned valve cover at the AAA Marine link Hank posted (kick ass place to check out btw), but then got to thinking about the script chevrolet covers. Does anyone know where/who might make them repro, or has a cache of them?

Look over in the High Performance section, Tlowe is picking up a sample valve cover tomorrow of the one shown in that post he is making and having cast.

JStew, In all my Inline years I have thought that a cast aluminum CHEVROLET script inline rocker cover would sell. Same as the stamped ones. Or a cast version of the 153 CHEVY script cover. Not as much demand but how about a CORVETTE script cover that would fit a 235? Small thin and short fins like the SB design. I know they have to clear the rockers but they don't have to be 1/4" thick.

The only problem with script is licensing.

Well, it's not the only problem but it's a biggest one. Especially since you'd have to get the Chinese to issue a GM license now. \:\(

Yeah, I guess licensing would be a big problem. I like the pic of the Chevy cover. TLowe, whats latest on the billet cover you've been working on?

In other news, I just bought a .63ar T3/4 hybrid turbo off ebay, and am lurking around for an offy manifold and carb to mate up.

Later this winter (when I've scraped up some disposable income)my plan is to box up my extra head and send it to you for a lump job TLowe.

The valve cover is going to be cast, not billet. What you are looking at in those pics is the pattern for making the casting, not the actual valve cover.

What's that one off of that just says Chevy? I've never seen that one before. I have 2 script covers, but they are both in use.

That is from a 153 four cylinder. Because it's two cylinders shorter Chevrolet wouldn't fit. They are hard to find.

Most of them are plain. I wish this one had less rust.

That AAA Marine site has some nice items. Some of their aftermarket Offy repros are cheaper than our traditional parts sites. As to cast valve covers,I bought a very nice Chevy 292 6,
finned, Mercruiser cover from a used marine parts dealer on EBay for $50.00. I just removed all decals and painted it, but I bet polished, it would look great.

I have a cast Mercruiser set for a 4 cylinder. If I use them they will be polished.
