Hi everybody! I am a newbie on here and to the chevy inline. I am planning on building a 250 hot street six. I am planning on turbo charging the motor. I have purchaed and read parts of the inline power manual. I would like your opinions on where to start and a game plan to stick to.
Motor will be going into a 1963 nova wagon Thanks.

Can you give us a starting point on what you mean by hot street engine. Do you mean 800 HP or 300 HP.

I am shooting for 300- 350 I would like good reliable power for a weekend car

Here's a dyno test with a 250 done here a few years back that will give you the power your looking for. Dyno 250 engine

Just bolt in a 4200 with a decent exhaust and your at 300 HP in near stock form. All the parts except motor mounts are around to do the job.
Want more 6 psi on a stock 4200 is 420 ish HP...
Compete engines can be had if you look around for $1000.
Mods after that to install
oil pan + wire harness/retune == $1100

It's pretty hard to beat the new technology if your looking for the most bang for thr buck. If your into nostalgia thats different.

I plan on keeping it nastolgic. I have been doing alot more research and reading more of the power manual. I will start building my short block soon. So far this is what I got: -stock crankshaft. Is there any mods I can do to this? -bored .040 over and zero decked. - forged pistons -re-worked rods - medium turbo cam. Any suggestions?

Sopa turbo manifold enlarged valves lump port slight bowl blending and cleaning up of the runners turbonetics t4 62-1 .85 p trim deffinatly intercooled i run fuel injection hank is big into methenol injection! Aftermarket intake clifford or offu which ever you find cheapest imo!
