can anyone give me the specifics on switching a points dist. out for an hei. i have purchased one with the external coil it has two wires going from coil to dist. and one coming into coil is this the only one i need to hook up besides vac advance? i want to try this out on one of my sixes before putting it on the 250 i've been working on. any and all info will be greatly appreciated. hoggyrubber hey, i'm glad the "b" board is back on i've missed reading it.

Yes all you need is one hot wire to the coil.
If you have a ballast resustor on the car by pass it, you need 12 volts to yhe HEI.

Go to www.67-72chevytrucks,com and look around. Alot of people do this and there are instuctions and pictures to go with. One was actually a 250 they did the conversion on.

Dick Dale - that was right on, thanks for the link.

My project was putting a coil in cap HEI from a '82 250 into my 64 Chevy II 230. It went without a problem. \:\)
