hey all. I have a 69 chevelle with a stock 250 in it. when i go from stop to go i have to feather the gas to get it to move. if i try to go to fast it backfires and stalls. once its moving its fine. any ideas?

Sounds like vacuum advance. If you feather it to go, I would think the accelerator pump is good. Take distributor cap off and suck on vacuum line to dizzy. The arm from the vac adv should move.

Sounds like your accelerator pump isn't working. I had this happen on my 65 El Camino.

Second on the accelerator pump. Sounds like a rebuild kit is in your future. Not hard to do.
