I think I might have located a early 235 with the tall side cover and thinking about converting to full oil pressure,I also have a 56 235 that can donate the crank and rods so is there anyone that has done that conversion. The present 235 has issues so thinking of building another motor so I want a 235 that actually looks like a 216 instead of the 235 that I am trying to make look like a 216.

That's a big project to fool so few people who could actually tell - is it worth it?

you can use the full pressure 235 crank in the 216, you would have to use custom pistons. Or you can drill the 216 crank, crower cams. There are several ways to skin this cat. I have done a lot of research, and ended up drilling my 216 crank, and now have a full pressure full flow filter 216. It wasn't really that hard or expensive. PM me.

The early 25 turned out to be a 216 but I might get a 37 216 this fall.

Why not just use the early style valve cover on a later model engine? You just need to use the early type hold down studs with the early cover.

I have the 235 looking as much as a 216 as I could but there is a rattle in the motor so I am going to build another motor.
