I have a 235 w/ a 3 speed that is from my 53 210 sedan. When I bought it the eng/trans was pulled and the car was in pices. The previous own said it was running before he took the Lego set apart. That said I found a guy selling a 250 from a 80's PU w/ 75k miles on it and "needs to be timed, but was running". The 235 is cool but I'm past the "vintage" cool factor and if the price/labor is right I'm up to increase the size.

My question(s)is, is the 250 a better type of eng over the 235? Will I/ can I get better performance/reliability out of it? Will it fit in my 210 & will it fit my 3 speed (for cool factor I'd like to keep the 3 on a tree if possible). Edumacate me. Ha. Thx

Thx I'm racking my brain on what to do. I like the idea of keeping the 235. Briefly looked into turbo ing it. Sounds like the 250 is more work than I want. Worst case I have a 305 and trany sitting around if the 235 turns out to be a dud. But, I really like the idea of a st. 6. The SBC seems to be too easy of a fall back.

The 235 engine weighs so much, I would junk it.

A 250 engine is much better engine, stronger, & much lighter than a 235.

Two cents.

Before you jump at the 250 - have a look here...

repowered 52 car

If your over the vintage thing.. then jump 2 generation.

Much better power and fuel mileage

I know you are not looking to put a 4200 engine in your ride, but here is an old 50 Chevy w/a 4200
