I got a cylinder head from a jeep 4.0 yesterday and started comparing it to a chevy inline head. i noticed the great similarities and started wondering if it could be mofified to fit on a chevy. with its true 12 port configuration and higher angled intake ports it would greatly improve flow over a stock chevy head. has anyone ever considered doing this?

If you put a Chev. head gasket on It's face, you'll see. I don't know.

Might be a posibile, but probably not (different MFG.)

"Check it out" perhaps a good idea.

Funny,

I was just thinking the same thing about the Ford 300 head on a 292. But even if it did work I'm not certain if there'd be inteference issues with the intake/exhaust & distributor and fuel pump.

Sure would be fun to play with. The Ford 12 port head is plentiful and can be gotten from just about anywhere for 100 bucks or so. Probably another two bills or so for the EFI unit.
