Hello. I'm building a NA 292 for street/strip use and ideally, I'd like to see rpm in the 7-7.5k territory. I'd like to use forged pistons, but would like to hear from others on which pistons (and rods, for that matter) they've used in similar applications.

You better plan on spending several grand on the siamese head to get it to support that kind of RPM and power level on a 292, or step up to a 12 port head.

Be careful of the snowball effect. I`m using ross pistons with a plus .030 compression height at 890$ for six and grp rods at 1100$ at 1100$ a set. I don`t have much time on this motor but I`ve been told by the guy that runs the old sissell car that you have to change the crank every 300 passes when you run 7000 plus rpm.

Its also dependent on the HP your making. If your only making 3-400 HP then you might be able to get 300 passes out of your crank. We had to replace cranks every 20 passes at our RPM and HP level. Forged pistons are highly recommended. Better rods would be also.
