He has been partnered up with Twisted6 for more than 10 years doing this stuff, so I would guess they know what they are doing more than anyone else in this area of bolt-in lump cylinder heads.

That head is Bone stock. Meaning all valves, studs have been removed. Head is cleaned and CHECK and is decked to make sure it has a 100% true flat surface. Stock studs have been removed So that either New studs can Be pressed back in Or stumps can be cut for screw in studs STOCK SPRINGS and Valves can Be put back IN OR you can up-grade the valve size and springs. Will need machined for the Up Grades. The Boss has been removed, An Lumps are fitted to the Ports and Bolted in. NO PORT work has been done other wise. Port work is to be done Once Valve size is Picked. So that makes for a good Stage 1 head start. And is one of our Best seller's. We can build them to any Stage anyone wants.

Thanks Larry, I see it as a way to get the head and set it up to YOUR motor and do it as money comes in. Here I thought it was pretty much stock or wild. I am happy to see this head and it is of great quality. Now if I can talk momma in to letting me get one...

Crack checked casting should be around 200. I charge 200 for lumps installed. Decking both surfaces would be the last thing to be done before final VJ so as to not damage the surface. About 100 Pull studs about 25. Gasket stock type 25 performance about 55. His price seems a bit high. But a workable head.

Mark Kirby charges $125 just for the core. So you have to factor in the cost of the head somewhere. Machine shop rates vary greatly across the country also, so what might seem high to people in some areas might be normal in others.

So I don't know about you, But anyone else I know who does head work has to pay for the Cores they build. And Beside MOST people PAY less for unskilled and untrained machinist/LABOR So I guess you can charge less because people just aren't going to pay higher prices for less quality!

I pay 50 per core bought. A crack checked, cleaned core should be about 200. Many times when doing heads, I take the customers dirty head as a core trade. Take the chance of getting a cracked on now and then. It is less than 10% casualty Tate.they get cleaned and checked 20 at a time.

I also agree. Was just trying to put some numbers together to help justify the price.

So if you took it to be a pissing match sorry. You are right. I actually thought his prices are pretty much dead on what I would expect. I just needed to know the quality of his work, to justify buying his product.

I have known him for as long as I have been on this BB which is at least 14 plus yrs. And I think he was selling Parts then. But He and his Dad have been racing these L6 Much longer. Myself I have been running the L6s since the vary early 80s after I got my hands on article about a 230 at 460 hp. That is when I knew I had grown bored of the V-things, And started building L6s. which was over 30yrs ago now.

My first car was a 75 Nova with a non integral head. This started my love for I6's. This was back around 1992. Did not start hotrodding them until 2006
