I am installing a 261 c.i. into my 39 Chevrolet Master Deluxe business Coupe. The engine was harvested from a 1960 Canadian Pontiac. It is my intent to use the 261 bell housing/flywheel/clutch/transmission assembly from the 261 rather than the 216 (I am converting the car to 12 volt and will be using a 12 volt starter). As a matter of interest the original rear end is being replaced with a 342 from an 86 Camaro. The one problem (amongst many)I have anticipated is the 261 clutch throwout fork does not readily mate with the existing linkage to the clutch pedal. Any suggestions?

Use the 216 bellhousing or switch to a hydraulic clutch slave cylinder.
