Inliners International Forums General Discussion Engines Head Casting Date Location

I found a good 235 head with a casting number of 3836848. Now how do I find out what year model it was really from, were is the casting date located and how do I read it?

pass. side center of head just below the valve cover there are some numbers cast. There would be something like B51 which would be Feb. 5, 1961, for example.

I found where you described and it says L-17-8, so that would mean December 17 1958 ?
