Building a 1954, 261. The original Harmonic Balancer had the 5/8 pulley, found and installed a 3/8 pulley balancer, however the pulley grove on the balance went past the pulley groove on the water pump by appx a full belt width before making contact with the crankshaft gear, I know the 53/54 261's are unique in some ways, but do the harmonic balancers change snout length to pulley groove ratios ? What to do ?

Thanks

It requires the correct water pump pulley to match.
