My car is a 74 Nova, I think a inline 250?

My cars birthdate is 5/74.

The reason I’m asking, I was working on the car today running an oil pressure gauge.

And I noticed on the passenger side engine block was that paint stick stuff that they use at a junkyard. Said “73”. Hmmmmm

I cleaned everything up and....

CON2

F 214

848675

Then behind the distributor CE4 10709 Could be CF4, hard to see the one letter.

I can’t find this anywhere online. I checked novaresource and it’s showing three letter suffix codes? But not like mine. I don’t see anything like that.

From what I understand, I think:

CON2 - Conveyor 2

F214 - June 21 1974

I stand ready to be corrected.

My birthdate on my Nova is 5/74. But I think your right.

I was also told the CE could have been a warranty motor put in?

The paint stick junkyard writing on the side of the block, “73” got me puzzled. But I guess that could have been someone because my strange.
