Hi,

I've got the engine apart. The oil pan bolt holes are somewhat deformed. Can't find new pans anywhere. Recommendations on how to straighten them?

Thanks!

I actually liked using a ball peen hammer and hammering the holes concave when looking at block side of pan so that the bolts pull the rail flat.

thanks, i'll try that this weekend.

i don't know if i can find my 2 year old gasket, may have been lost in the move. Felpro makes a cork and a rubber gasket. I see "High Performance" on the rubber and a $9 difference and wonder why they still make the cork. Plus, the leaking gasket was cork. Which is your favorite?

Use the end gaskets with RTV top and bottom, throw the side gaskets in the garbage and use blue RTV. Wipe all surfaces with lacquer thinner before applying rtv. NO more leaks.

It wasn't very hard to flatten the cover. Cleaned it up, painted it. Maybe install next weekend.

Got some feedback that ultra black is best rtv. Reading the petmatex website, it looks best for this application. I found my gasket set, I had bought the pro kit.

At long last, the '67 rides again!

https://youtu.be/Pd2kJO8JGOw

Things that were done:
- New oil pan gasket
- New Clifford intake so i can connect water
- Changed jets and plugs since it was running super rich. This was a previous setting before I realized my primary performance issue is timing. I still need to set up the distributor. But the performance isn't as good with this as it was with the previous get settings. A bit sluggish off the start, barely spun the tires and seemed to bog a bit.
- Power valve back to 8.5
- Main jets back to 52
- 35 accelerator
- Secondary jets 59
- Timing unchanged at 18BTDC initial.

Thanks for the tips! There's no oil leaking after a 45 minute drive. You all rock!
