Hi,
I think I know the answer to this, but thought I'd confirm here.
This cam is toast right?
Shiny lobe is after polishing with crocus cloth. Journals are worse than lobes I think.

Hopefully link to picture album made it:

Re-grindable to something similar cheaper than a new roller.
Can't change the lobe height much, can't change the LSA more than 1-2 degrees.

Like Panic says. Salvageable with a regrind. I would send it out if it were mine. I'd buy it.

When regrinding how do they deal with the bearing surfaces? Are thicker bearings available? Can they build up the area and then regrind?

Not much can be done to the bearing journals. Also, the lobes can only be reground so far before you grind past the heat treatment. They will not re heat treat one if it does.

Their is a company that can and does Heat treat cams. But as far as the bearing area looks If it's not pitted you may??? be okay there ,Hard to tell really from the photo. Me personally ( if in dout send it out ) send it out to a cam company and let them be the judge.

The lobes are the easy fix. If the bearing area is not pitted You would be fine I think, As LONG As It's smooth.
