Looking for thoughts on controlling boost timing. Inline 292 with a HX35 turbo-intercooled. The car is more of a cruiser than anything, so race car style ignition won't be needed. Boost will not be over 10 psi. Do I need something similar to a MSD 6BTM for timing control or is there something else more cost effective? The BTM has several functions that may be ideal, but I've never been down this road before.

I went with direct fire ignition to take the distributor out of the loop. Even at 10 psi on pump gas you need something with knock sensors. I went with electromotive for my ignition. It was $3500 but it is "race car" ignition. I think it will cook breakfast if you want. They will taylor make a system for your needs at any level. I'm running a 4-71 blower on my 292.

I appreciate the response mick53. I'd love to go that route, but the budget won't allow it. I haven't even finished this build and I'm already thinking about a 4-71 build. Mine is in a Chevy II, so just the visual aspect of having a supercharger sticking out of the hood would be worth it. Not sure if I'm using the 292 for that one or stepping down to a 250? Many more options with the 250 and a little cheaper.
