On evilflay...

Interested in people's thoughts. I'm currently in possession of a Clifford and was looking at going TBI, but this would seem tempting... Although there is a certain poster on the board with one that might be a good alternative, if it can be had with this all set up (my local machine shop and I have a difference in opinion on the term 'precision').

When I bought my Aussie Speed, people were asking what those flat bosses were for near the mounting holes. They were thinking FI, and I see that is a viable option as the intake you posted is setup that way. I have heard FI doesn't work well on because of the shared intake ports. To me, it seems like it would work, as the injector would squirt the fuel for the cylinder that had the open valve. Hopefully those with way more knowledge than me will chime in on this.

With the intake D13 is referring to, with time comes change and advanced technology. This intake he mentions has features incorporated into it that makes the fuel sharing issues more manageable and when used in conjunction with complementary components, turns those issues into virtual non-issues. It also has other advantages over TBI that still has to deal with these fuel sharing issues because carb intakes dont have these features in them to help reduce those problems.

It looks like a fine setup. Wish I had saw that before I bought my Aussie Speed. But that's okay, maybe in the future.

If your Clifford has the raised bosses in the casting as it appears that the new manifolds do, you can drill and ream the pockets for the injectors.

Fuel rail blank extrusions are readily available that you can machine to suit.
I would think that Microsquirt would work to manage the system and you can use a throttle body from the auto wrecker for a very reasonable EFI system.
Might be worth talking to EFI-DIY guy here on what he thinks of this.

No bosses on the old Clifford carbureted.

And note the fine print on the ebay manifold, only manifold and rail for that price.

I agree, If your manifold had the lumps and you have a drill press you can do it for a lot less than $900. But with your manifold I would stick to TBI or a carb. You will still make as much HP. If your frugal, the HP/$ factor says carb.

You can have someone weld the bungs needed for the injectors I have seen others do it that way.

I think I'll just TBI the 250 for the 4wd truck.
When the next round of Marshall's become available I'll get one for the turbo 292 build (making a drag-ish truck). Maybe if I ask nice I can get it pre-drilled. So far I'm unimpressed with my local machine shop, and my home shop is great for non-precision work (pretty sure its' the old machine and the older operator combined).
