Hi All,

Has anyone used the Street Demon 625, specifically the 1901? Was it used on a 250 or a 292? Which manifold did you use it with? Your level of success and if that was not your final configuration of choice, what was?

A follow up to that question is has anyone used the AVS 2 and their thoughts on that? Especially if you've tried both,if you could compare and contrast.

My use will be on a slightly modified 250/292 with an Offy or Clifford intake.

Both the AVS 2 and the Street Demon seem like a modern, more effective twist on reliable, proven and easy to maintain streetable carb solution.

Stay healthy and safe.

Regards,
Rick

Hi Panic,

Smallest one they make. The primaries are small, the secondary is adjustable, and I have access to a Street Demon carb.

Rick

Rick, did you end up going with the 625 Street Demon, if so how do you like it? I do like the concept of the smaller barrels but have to admit the carb is kinda funky looking, not that it should matter, lol. I have a mildly modified 292 and am looking at various setups but not sold on any as of yet.I would be interested in what you went with and how you like it thus far.

Thanks,
Eric

The Holley 390 (List 8007) is a frequent choice in part because of the tiny primaries: 1.44" throttle disc, 1.06" venturi.

Hi Eric,

I did get the Street Demon but have not used it yet. I have a few inlines and lots of options regarding go-zintas and go-zoutas. So I'm still in the decision stage of what to do first. I will at least hook up an ecu and O2 sensor to start.

Regards,
Rick

I'm new to the forum but here's my 2 cents worth. I have 4 vehicles with 292 engines. They go from completely stock to all out drag race. The 2 in the middle are a '50 Chevy pickup with propane pistons, rv cam, headers, and 4 bbl and a '56 Chevy 2 door sedan with flat top pistons, 600 lift Crower cam, Sissell lump port head, headers and 4 bbl. On both those engines I'm running a 600 Edlebrock carburetor. The pickup is a daily driver and the '56 is a street/strip car. I'm sure that the carburetor isn't optimum in either application and they are certainly set up differently but in both vehicle they seem to perform well. The pickup has 4.11 gears and a 5 speed. Drivability is good and it gives us 15-18 mpg. The '56 also seems to have decent drivability and performance, no idea on the mileage but it has deep gears and will run mid 13's at 100 mph in the 1/4. FWIW

6 is Enough, Sounds like an interesting stable. I'd like to see more. I'd also like to know how Rjonah & Dongray do with their Street Demon setups.

Here's the '50 Chevy 3100 pickup that is our daily driver. It has a 12 bolt posi rear end with 4.11 gears, Tremec 3550 trans, 292 with mild cam, Clifford intake with Edlebrock 600, and tube headers.

Well, I was going to add a couple pics but I haven't figured out how to do that. Apparently you can't just insert an image.
