I believe the biggest spreadbore carb that came stock was a Carter Thermoquad(A.K.A. thermobog!)L.O.L.
850 CFM I.I.R.C.? If I remember correctly.
I also thought I read that the Pontiac OHC 6 had a 650 Carb.
