Thanks for the reply, Really crazy the way I got this transmission, was talking to the telephone man while he was making some repairs out side the house and he spotted the old 51 Chevy truck and told me he had an old transmission he had taken out of his old truck and I could have it. I told him I would come and get it he said he would bring it over and sure enough it was sitting in my driveway that evening when I got home! It is the OD one and has an large main shaft retainer, it appears to be in excellent condition and the reason I think it is 1974; is he left the radiator also and it is marked 74 ? I think it will be a good transmission for either my Chevys or early Mopars
