Oh yes, the 254 is a 3.5 bore and 4.4 stroke. the 226 has 3.3 bore. The engines are very similar, but I think the block is different, I dont think you can bore out a 226 safely. The distributors are the same on the 226 and 254, on the side of the block. In the early 226 G series, up to 46 or 47, the dist was a pancake on the front of the motor.
