Correct, the majority of the blocks use a unique bellhousing pattern, all though there were a few made with small block v-8 pattern.
The upper bolts on the "normal" blocks actually line up with a SB, but the outer bolts and dowels are in a different location.
Good thing is though, there are aftermarket bellhousings made to attach most 4 and 5 speed manuals up to one!
