In the Navy I operated the Fairbanks-Morse Diesel Engines. We used them for back-up Electrical Generators.
They were 1037 cubic inches per cylinder. I ran the 12 cylinder model. That makes 12,444 cubic inches.
They are Two-Stroke Engines and each cylinder has TWO Pistons. When we did an oil change... it took 500 gallons. When I was skinny they send me inside the crankcase to retrieve a wrench. Please dont Ask.
