If you are going to use the other engine I wouldn't pull the head, but I would break it loose and make sure the cylinders were lubed well. I'd make sore all the openings were covered. If you open it up and then don't seal it again it just adds to the problem. Which reminds me I have a 302 laying on it's side with fresh snow on it.
