I just received the current copy of FAST's quarterly magazine (hot model A's and T's) and it has an interesting article about valve timing. Basically, it said that there was better performance to be had by opening the intake valve between 5 and 10 degrees before TDC but that most flathead cams open after TDC. The guy writing the article is “T" man so his engines are going to top out just north of 3,000RPM. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
