The difference is that the last 2 letters on your code indicates the application code. From 1970 onward the application code is the last 3 letters. Mine is "TAL". The "T" says the engine came from a truck. If there was a "C" instead of a "T" it would mean that the engine came from a car. The last 2 letters indicate model info such as auto trans.
