In Dean Batchelor's book The American Hot Rod on page 130 there is a picture of one on a four cylinder. The caption reads "......possibly the first, exhaust driven supercharger for an automobile engine was built by Ray Besasie of Milwaukee Wisconsin, for a 1941 Chevy six. It is seen here on a four-cylinder engine of some sort in a '32 Ford roadster. Unlike current turbochargers the impeller of this unit was so large that that the inertia kept it from spooling-up to be a practical street application, but it should have been good for top speed runs at the dry lakes. The photo was taken in 1941 or '42 by Vince Cimmino.
I just moved this over from my post on Hot Rod Inlines. I'd like have it on my 153 build! \:\)
