I think I might be able to help with the idle problem. Idle speed is controled by the electric solenoid. The speed is set in two ways. One is the allen screw in the back and the other is turning the whole thing with a 9/16 wrench. One way is with it unplugged and the other with it plugged in. I forget which is which. Just unplug it with the engine running and find out. The idle MIXTURE screw pointing to the front of the car is for rich/lean at idle speed. Mine is loose and wore out.
