Clearly I don't know this much about T5's.
I did have an idea of possibly using the GM (read Camaro) case so it would bolt up. And using the Mustang gears, mainshaft etc. so the speedometer would still have a connection in the tailshaft section.
They do mention that the WC is required due to the tailshaft oiling.
