At this point, you'd need to tear it down and magnaflux the block and head to confirm they are even usable and not frozen or cracked since that would be common in your region of the country. Even in running condition, i've seen several 302 GMC heads have cracks in the intake ports so bad you couldn't re-use them, and they were running fine beforehand.
