I found this....

Chevy L6 194-250 cid 440 lbs
Chevy L6 216/235 cid 630 lbs
Chevy small block V8 575 lbs with iron heads and intake
Chevy small block V8 535 lbs with iron heads/alum intake

250 is 24% lighter than a 235 according to GM in their advertising.

And I found this....

From what ive found in the chevy fact book in my service dept the people who told you the 250 cid straight 6 cyl was heavier they were right. The base weight on the 250 is 680 lbs.The base weight on the early model 350 is 655 lbs.The newer models 350 base weight is 620.

Dunno who’s right?

But...when a straight 6 is replaced with a small block, why are heavier springs needed in the front then? The front of a Nova will drop 2 inches if V8 springs are not installed
